Deaf Club

Active in Southern California, Deaf Club brings together five musicians from the local punk and noise scene around Justin Pearson, Brian Amalfitano, Scott Osment, Jason Klein and Tommy Meehan. Deaf Club plays extremely fast hardcore punk threaded with crust, thrash and grind, with short, nervous songwriting made of surges, sharp breaks, noisy textures and vocals delivered in an abrupt, projected manner. The band emerged in 2020 with the EP Contemporary Sickness, released a remixed version the same year, then followed with a cover of Killing Joke's "The Wait" and several video recordings. In 2022 Deaf Club issued its first album, Productive Disruption, which extends this tense, sarcastic aesthetic — between saturation, rhythmic urgency and a direct gaze at social disorder. Deaf Club’s trajectory is part of a network of bands associated with punk hardcore, grind and the most abrasive forms of indie rock, playing shows notably in Southern California in sometimes atypical settings, far from a polished or demonstrative approach.
