Bones Ate Arfa
From Brighton, Bones Ate Arfa crafts a sound at the intersection of psychedelic street punk and desert rock, operating as a trio with Bones on guitar, 8 on drums and Arfa on vocals and bass. The project first drew attention with the single “Asbestos,” which lays down dry, gritty riffs in a setting where punk urgency meets heavier lines and garage energy. Bones Ate Arfa also cultivates a distinctive visual world: the three members appear both as musicians and as illustrated characters in their videos and in publications such as Akimbo People - The Official Graphic Novel and Just Bananas - The Potassium Pursuit. As the band established itself on the live scene, Bones Ate Arfa circulated through venues across southern England while securing airtime on BBC Radio 6 and Radio X and coverage in outlets like Clash, Dork, Earmilk and Louder Than War. The whole presents a project in which graphic identity, the tight trio format and abrasive rock songwriting advance together without falling into the most expected codes of British punk.
