Tony Price

Based in Greektown, Toronto, Tony Price has, since the mid‑2010s, developed a practice at the intersection of production, DJing and independent publishing. His releases on L.I.E.S. Records, Telephone Explosion and his own imprint Maximum Exposure Inc. range from classic house and electro to synthetic funk, collages akin to musique concrète and freer, jazz‑tinged forms of electronic music, adopting a deliberately raw and off‑kilter approach. In 2017 he launched Maximum Exposure Inc., both a label and a music production company, a logical extension of a practice that combines composition, recording and artistic direction. From 2018 onward Tony Price issued a series of EPs and albums, creating a dense discography where club grooves, lo‑fi experiments and a taste for sonic pastiche intersect. His studio activity is accompanied by a regular presence as a DJ and by programming and broadcasting work through the Maximum Exposure Power Hour on NTS Radio. Tony Price thus figures in a Toronto scene open to exchanges between dance music, DIY culture and sound research.
