Andy Crofts

Born in São Paulo, Brazil and settled in England, where he grows up between Northampton and the British indie rock scene, Andy Crofts develops a career as a musician, singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist rooted in a register that crosses indie rock, psychedelia, lo-fi and Britpop heritage. After a stint with The On Offs, Andy Crofts founded The Moons in 2006 and became the main driving force behind the band's writing, with a melodic approach nourished by psychedelic pop, sixties organs and guitars with a direct grain. With this group, he notably released the albums Life on Earth in 2010, Fables of History in 2012, Mindwaves in 2014 and Pocket Melodies in 2020. In parallel, Andy Crofts joined Paul Weller's band in 2008, initially on keyboards and then on bass live, and also participated in several studio recordings, which permanently placed him in a circuit mixing English rock, soul and songwriting. His activity also extends to production, photography and directing, with the documentary One and videos linked to Paul Weller's universe. Between collective projects and personal work, Andy Crofts maintains concise writing, carried by vintage arrangements and a pop sensibility without pomposity.
