Antonina Nowacka
Emerging from the Polish scene, Antonina Nowacka has been developing work at the intersection of voice, composition and sound art since the 2010s. Trained in visual arts, she constructs minimalist pieces where ambient, vocal drone and experimental music meet, paying particular attention to resonances, breath and wordless melodic lines. Her research carried out in natural environments, together with an interest in various musical traditions and the singularities of the voice, informs a pared‑down, often immersive writing that leaves ample room for space and perception. In concert settings as well as exhibitions, she has presented her work at venues such as Lincoln Center in New York, the Barbican Centre and Café OTO in London, Silent Green in Berlin, the Centro Nacional de las Artes in Mexico City, La Casa Encendida in Madrid, the Bourse de Commerce in Paris, BOZAR in Brussels and the National Museum in Warsaw. Her trajectory also includes collaborations with Agnieszka Polska, Nicolas Jaar and Sofie Birch, in a constant dialogue between performance, installation and musical creation.
