MEERA (UK)
Based between London and Manchester throughout her career, MEERA is rooted in a British club culture that emerged in the late 1990s — from London nights at Bagleys, The Cross, Turnmills and Camden Palace to the later Manchester scene around Sankeys and Music Box. These experiences shaped an aesthetic focused on house, techno, garage, deep tech and wider dance-music influences. Self-taught, MEERA started mixing at 18 on vinyl turntables, later organising her own nights and hosting a weekly show on a community radio station while studying in Manchester. After university she worked at the BBC in Manchester and at several stations in London, including within circles linked to electronic-music programming such as Mary Anne Hobbs’ show on BBC Radio 1. After a break, MEERA relaunched her DJ activity in 2024, has presented a fortnightly show on Select since then, and is developing her own events in London. Her approach favours loose, rhythmic selections — between house grooves, tech textures and garage accents — with the lasting imprint of Ibiza’s dance culture on her trajectory.
