MARRØN

In Amsterdam, MARRØN is part of the core of Eerste Communie, a collective and party series he co‑founded and where he is a resident; through this platform his trajectory was established in the city’s underground club scene before spreading more widely across Europe. Marrøn develops fast, hypnotic and percussive techno, rooted in an Afro Deep foundation that he has gradually shifted toward a tenser, more physical register. His name pays homage to the Marrons of Suriname, communities born from flight from slavery — a reference point that illuminates the cultural background of his project and the central role of rhythm in his music. His sets progress in layers, with dense loops, moving percussion and a constant attention to groove and texture rather than to disruptive effects. This approach has taken him both to warehouse and club contexts and to broader billings, notably at Awakenings, Brunch Electronik and Le Sucre, in settings suited to long, progressive sets.
