Mala Sangre

Mala Sangre is the solo project of Daniel Rato, a musician active in Spain and connected to the Extremadura scene, where he was honored in 2025 with the Best Live award at the Premios de la Música de Extremadura. Mala Sangre’s repertoire falls into a dark, nervous electronic vein at the crossroads of dark-clubbing, electro-punk, darkwave and EBM, with a contemporary approach that privileges taut rhythms, cold textures and a constant tension between melody and physical impact. Within this framework, Mala Sangre develops a stage format that combines electronic music and video, with visual work conceived as a direct extension of the tracks rather than mere decoration. The track “Fear is Your Only God” is among Mala Sangre’s identified releases and exemplifies this frontal, danceable and dark aesthetic. Through the project, Daniel Rato builds a proposition centered on live energy, where post-punk and industrial inheritances are reformulated into a concise, current electronic writing.
