Suze Ijó

Based in Rotterdam, Suze Ijó crafts a house approach shaped by her city’s musical landscape — between hip‑hop, Caribbean sounds and Eurodance — with a marked focus on R&B, soul house and polyrhythmic grooves. She started frequenting clubs around the age of 18 and later worked in the local nightlife, initially in production teams, as a hostess and booker, before spending three years on the distribution side at Clone Records in Rotterdam. She was also part of the First Floor collective and co‑hosts the United Identities podcast series with Carista. In her sets, Suze Ijó favors an open, tempo‑elastic house, threaded with vocals, soulful textures and rhythms that connect different narratives of Black dance music. Her trajectory has taken her to clubs and festivals such as Panorama Bar, De School, Lux Fragíl, Kaiku and Dekmantel, and to radio outlets like NTS, The Lot Radio and the Dekmantel podcast series. Suze Ijó thus belongs to a club scene where music selection, the venue’s context and collective energy matter as much as the DJ‑set format.
