Grischa Lichtenberger

Born in Bielefeld in 1983 and based in Berlin since 2008, Grischa Lichtenberger develops work at the intersection of experimental electronic music, installation, video and visual arts. Released since 2009 on Raster-Noton and later on Raster, his pieces move between fractured rhythms, abrasive textures, fragmented sound montage and spatial investigation, with a writing that is as much composition as assemblage. After ~Treibgut (2009) he refined this universe on and IV [inertia] (2012), La Demeure; Il Y A Péril En La Demeure (2015), Kamilhan; Il Y A Péril En La Demeure (2020), works for last work and dwdgdah - die wiederholung der geschichte der amerikanischen heimatlosigkeit (2023), and then ostranenie (2025). His audiovisual performances have toured festivals and venues such as MUTEK Montréal, Elektra, Electron in Geneva, Berlin Atonal and À L’Arme. In 2015 Grischa Lichtenberger also composed the music for Last Work for the Batsheva Dance Company and Ohad Naharin’s choreography, while collaborating with Jesse Osborne-Lanthier and, in a more collective context, with Philipp Gropper, Gaia Mattiuzzi and Moritz Baumgärtner. Concurrently, he regularly presents installations and exhibitions in Germany and internationally.
