Whities

Born in Colmar in 1989 as Xavier Da Conceicao, he settled in Lille in 2009 and from 2011 developed a French pop project that mixes electro, funk and rock touches in a format both theatrical and visual. Trained early in drums, singing and school and municipal performances, Whities took his first steps in various bands and duos before building his personal repertoire on stages across northern France. A first EP, Whities, was released in 2013, followed by the album 2.1 in 2015. After several years of touring, Whities continued his evolution with the EPs My Name is Whities (2019) and I’m Whities (2021), where his French-language pop became more synthetic, more direct and sometimes rougher. His trajectory also includes cover formats, music videos conceived as short narratives and a collaboration with the Kodacolor collective in 2020. He then released the single Pop Christmas in 2021, RedHot in 2023, and the album La réalité n’existe pas in 2024. Altogether this outlines a path centered on colourful, rhythmic and often theatrical francophone pop, in which Whities works as much on songwriting as on its visual extension.
