Mohajer

Having passed through Gothenburg before settling in Berlin, Mohajer has spent more than ten years building a DJ career centered on tense, percussive techno deeply rooted in movement, where the energy of old-school groove meets a more direct, contemporary punch. Mohajer crafts sets that favor rhythmic flow, contrasts of tension and a pronounced presence of percussion, a relationship to rhythm she also connects to her Persian roots. Over the years she has established herself on demanding club scenes, with appearances at venues like Berghain in Berlin, Bassiani in Tbilisi, K41 in Kiev and Endurance in Copenhagen, which illuminate the aesthetic line of her work. Long based in the German capital, Mohajer is also cofounder and resident of MP3, a series of queer and BIPoC nights conceived to recover a form of intimacy within Berlin’s underground. Her activity also extends to mixes broadcast on radio platforms such as Rinse, and to a collaboration with Fast Forward in Copenhagen, both an agency and a label.
