The Get Alongs

Formed in Toronto in 2017, The Get Alongs brings brothers Harrison and Rory together with their friends Eric and Tristan in a quartet format rooted in loose garage rock, threaded with surf accents and broader indie songwriting. The band initially developed a direct, melodic repertoire and gradually incorporated elements of alternative rock, new wave and shoegaze, featuring both bright and more hazy guitars, mobile rhythms and vocals that remain central. This evolution is audible on the EPs Good Morning (2019) and Tossing Stones (2020) and continues on the album Weather Permitting (2023), where the group more clearly articulates its various influences without abandoning its immediate approach. The single “Haunt,” released in 2025, extends this trajectory with a more blues‑rock coloration and a play between tension and release. Based in Toronto’s independent scene, The Get Alongs have also circulated through showcases and festivals, notably in Canada and Europe.
