Pambelé
Founded in 2019, Pambelé brings together seven musicians around a Franco‑Colombian project that links the traditional music of the Colombian Caribbean with a psychedelic aesthetic nourished by rock, punk and pop. Pambelé works with highly rhythmic material driven by Afro‑Colombian percussion, gaitas, voices, guitars and organs, producing a taut, danceable sound traversed by transatlantic currents. Before the group formed, several members also performed alongside João Selva, The Bongo Hop, Totó la Momposina and Nidia Góngora—a trajectory that situates the band within scenes where Afro‑Caribbean repertoires, tropical music and contemporary music intersect. Initially developed on stage, Pambelé released the single “Mujer Perfecta” in 2024 and their first album “Dámelo” in March 2025, as well as the tracks “Dámelo” and “Frutera” the same year. The name Pambelé refers to the Colombian boxer Kid Pambelé and recalls the Afro‑Colombian roots the group claims.
