Other Lies

Based in Paris, Other Lies develops an independent rock that blends post‑punk, new wave, no wave and electro‑psychedelic atmospheres, while giving room to acoustic timbres such as the zither or the santur. Other Lies made its name with Beyond Fur in 2020, a debut album with a raw, tense sound—caught between a rough bass, airy guitars and dark lyrics about duplicity and the fear of abandonment. The project continued along this trajectory with Surfacing in 2022, an album conceived as a narrative whole and nourished by the myth of Actaeon, where the tracks gain in scope, density and organic matter. In its lyrics, Other Lies articulates a vision of the world that is at once cynical and poetic, often concerned with the question of the inner journey, between rejection of materialism and images of initiatory travel. Other Lies’ aesthetic thus mixes rock tension, psychedelic drift and literary references, while performing on the concert circuit in the Paris region.
