Dropdead Chaos

Formed in France during the first lockdown of March 2020, Dropdead Chaos began as a remote collective of musicians from different branches of metal. The project took shape with the first singles “Black Thoughts,” “Save Yourself” and “Humans,” before moving from the studio to the stage—most notably with a Hellfest performance in 2022 that marked its evolution into a full-fledged band. Dropdead Chaos develops an alternative metal that crosses nu metal, heavy metal, extreme touches and contemporary production, with songs built on massive riffs, melodic choruses and a constant tension between aggression and accessibility. This identity was consolidated on the album Underneath The Sound (2023) and on the EP This Is Not The Beginning (2024), which extended the band’s songwriting in a tighter format. Initially conceived as a broad collective, Dropdead Chaos later operated as a six-member formation, with Renato Di Folco on vocals after Déhà’s withdrawal in 2024. The single “Unpredictable,” released the same year, opened a new phase for Dropdead Chaos, now refocused on this lineup.
