Morphine
Launched in 2018, Morphine joue Indochine is part of the French tribute-band scene, dedicating its repertoire to the world of Indochine. The group brings together six musicians and builds a set focused on more than forty years of songs by the original band, from early new wave and pop-rock tracks to more recent material, with an interpretation that highlights the rock dimension without straying from the melodic lines and original aesthetic. Morphine joue Indochine also adopts the stage codes associated with the repertoire, working on arrangements and on the concert’s continuity conceived as a journey through different periods of Indochine. Fronted by Sébastien on vocals, whose timbre and phrasing recall Nicola Sirkis, Morphine joue Indochine has been performing for several years on varied stages across France, including concert halls, festivals, cultural centres and public or private events. The project alternates the catalogue’s most recognised songs—such as L’Aventurier, Canary Bay, Trois nuits par semaine and J’ai demandé à la lune—with tracks more closely tied to the repertoire followed by long-time fans.
