Kenny Ken

Active since the late 1980s, Kenny Ken, born Ken Delsol in London, emerged from the rave and pirate radio environment that accompanied the rise of British jungle. First noticed around Crazy Larry’s parties, he became a resident at the Crazy Club in Busby’s alongside Ray Keith and Jumpin Jack Frost, and appeared on Labrynth and Centreforce, two key venues of the early 1990s London scene. His career continued through nights such as Sunday Roast, Telepathy, World Dance and AWOL, where his style blends jungle, drum and bass and ragga influences, with fast rhythms, a direct mixing approach and a track selection geared to dancefloor energy. Kenny Ken also gained recognition as a producer with the 1994 tune “Everyman,” and later developed his own ventures, notably the Mix & Blen’ label launched in 1997, followed by Planet Funk Recordings with DJ Mace. Between 1994 and 1997 he hosted a show on Kiss 100 and appeared on BBC Radio 1’s One in the Jungle. His discography includes several singles and remixes, as well as mixed compilations such as World Dance - The Album with DJ SS (1997) and 25 Years of Kenny Ken (2014).
