Lady Maru

Born in Romania and based in Berlin, Lady Maru has developed a trajectory at the intersection of electronic and post‑punk scenes. She began producing music in her teens, following early work as a noise guitarist in post‑punk and no‑wave bands — an anchoring that remains audible in her direct, abrasive and physical approach to sound. As a DJ she trained initially in underground clubs and raves, aiming to bridge two poles that still shape her musical identity: punk as an art form and techno. Her sets and productions now sit largely within a hard techno register, incorporating hardcore, industrial and acid elements, where raw textures, taut rhythms and a frontal energy take precedence over effects. Lady Maru thus operates in a territory where the legacy of alternative music meets the codes of the densest rave scenes, with a dark, nervous and uncompromising aesthetic.
