Joseba Irazoki

Active since 2001 within the Spanish Basque scene, Joseba Irazoki has developed a guitar-centred career that crosses indie rock, folk, free improvisation and sound research. His discography, comprising nearly twenty records released under his name, alternates instrumental pieces, songs, experimental formats and works more open to the moment, maintaining a constant dialogue between written composition and improvisation. Joseba Irazoki has also played in Onddo and On Benito, taken part in the Bashoan project with Beñat and Julen Achiary around Robbie Basho’s repertoire, and been a member of Atom Rhumba. At the same time he works as a guitarist with artists from rock and song traditions such as Nacho Vegas, Mikel Erentxun, Rafa Berrio and Petti. His trajectory places him at the junction of the Basque independent scene, Iberian rock and more experimental circuits, characterised by restrained writing, guitar loops, pared‑down melodies and a marked attention to textures.
