Selvajes

Active since 2021 in Madrid, Selvajes brings together Jaime Cascón on vocals, Marcos Folgado on drums, Ulrich Velasco and Álex TJ on guitars, and Ángel Alarcos on bass. The Spanish quintet operates in an indie rock register driven by taut guitars, a dense rhythm section and instantly accessible melodies, with songwriting that blends electric tension and more open choruses. From the outset, Selvajes adopted a steady release strategy, issuing tracks as singles rather than centering on a rapidly launched debut album, which aided their embedding in Madrid’s independent scene and led to dates across the Iberian Peninsula. Their aesthetic remains focused on energetic contemporary rock — balancing pop efficiency, punchy riffs and emotional intensity without tipping into an overblown sound. In 2025 Selvajes announced El Despegue, presented as a mixtape released progressively and performed live as a continuation of this increased activity.
