Splendid

Formed in Switzerland around Michael Egger, singer and songwriter of Jeans for Jesus, and producer/composer Levin Lucca Dennler, who also works with Hainan, Splendid occupies a Swiss German pop register that mixes melodic songwriting, contemporary production and references from rap, indie pop and chanson. The project brings together two well‑established paths in the Swiss scene: Michael Egger helped renew the Mundartpop with Jeans for Jesus; Levin Lucca Dennler has worked with German‑language pop and hip‑hop artists such as Trettmann, CRO, Stereo Luchs and Bonez MC. Splendid’s songs were written across several Swiss cities and Berlin in a collective approach that is also reflected on stage, where the band performs in an expanded lineup. The debut album, SPLENDID, was released in 2024 and features contributions from Faber, Stereo Luchs and Anina Shona. With Splendid, Michael Egger and Levin Lucca Dennler have developed a more direct format than their parallel projects, centered on crisply defined pop songs carried by a local language, flexible arrangements and a strong sense of group dynamics.
