Wasted Wizards

Born in a rural area of Sweden, Wasted Wizards brings together brothers Leo and Sam Mårtensson, drummer John Danielsson and bassist Alvin Hilmersson around a hard rock sound rooted in classic rock and melodic heavy tones. The quartet works within an aesthetic inherited from the 1980s, with direct riffs, frenetic tempos, clear choruses and a pronounced taste for catchy guitars, in a vein that recalls both melodic hard rock and Scandinavian sleaze. Wasted Wizards formed early within a family framework linked to music: Leo and Sam Mårtensson grew up around Erik Mårtensson, the Swedish musician known for his work with Eclipse, who also recorded and produced the single “Hear Me Out!”. This track, highlighted on the band’s first releases, demonstrates compact, energetic songwriting focused on the efficiency of the riffs and rhythmic tension. Still at the beginning of their journey, Wasted Wizards is developing its identity between the legacy of classic hard rock and a more current approach, already carving out a visible place in the new Swedish hard rock scene.
