WondaGurl

Born in Toronto in 1996, Ebony Naomi Oshunrinde — known as WondaGurl — has developed a production language that sits between hip-hop, trap and contemporary R&B, built on heavy bass, dry rhythms and dark melodic layers. WondaGurl emerged as a teenager when one of her instrumentals became "Crown" on Jay‑Z’s Magna Carta Holy Grail in 2013, launching a trajectory quickly rooted in North American rap. Her work has since circulated between Toronto and the scenes in Atlanta and Houston, through collaborations with Travis Scott, Rihanna, Drake, Future and Lil Uzi Vert. While her name was initially associated with production, WondaGurl has also broadened her compositional writing, favoring space, tension and rhythmic impact over clutter. Over the years she has evolved that trap foundation into more flexible forms, where rap converses with urban pop and R&B without losing its density.
