Bionic Bitch

Formed in 2009 in Copenhagen, Denmark, Bionic Bitch develops a resolutely old-school EBM aesthetic rooted in the legacy of Nitzer Ebb, Front 242, Die Krupps and DAF. The trio brings together Use on lead vocals, Ptr on drums and additional vocals, and Jspr on synths, in a lineup oriented toward rhythm and a confrontational, front-facing approach. Bionic Bitch’s music rests on repetitive percussive structures, minimalist electronic lines and a taut tempo, with lyrics inspired by the darker side of human behaviour. The group alternates gritty, sometimes feminine vocals and chanted slogans over dry pulses and deliberately abrasive timbres that evoke 1980s EBM codes while updating them. On stage Bionic Bitch translates this approach into sets centred on physical energy, playing on the dynamics between drums, voice and programmed sequences. Active since the late 2000s, Bionic Bitch firmly situates itself within the continuity of the Scandinavian and European EBM scene.
