Konstantin Unwohl

Led by the German musician Konstantin Unwohl, this project belongs to the contemporary darkwave and synth-pop scene, with strong ties to cold wave and EBM at moderate tempos. Active since the late 2010s, Konstantin Unwohl builds an aesthetic around sharp, melodic synth lines, repetitive rhythms and vocals primarily in German, where introspective lyrics blend with observations of everyday life. His early releases placed him within a network of European labels and collectives associated with electronic post-punk aesthetics, leading to performances in clubs and concert halls as both live sets and DJ sets. His production ranges from dance-oriented tracks with clear melodic writing to slower pieces that explore cinematic, soundtrack-like atmospheres. This duality allows him to contribute to dancefloor compilations as well as more narrative projects, while maintaining a recognizable sonic continuity through dark synthetic textures and minimalist arrangements.
