David Delabrosse

Based in Rennes, David Delabrosse has been following a distinctive path in French song since the mid-2000s, combining a repertoire for adults with work aimed at young audiences. As a solo artist he writes pop- and folk-inflected songs where spare melodies meet precise lyrics, often tinged with melancholy, irony and everyday observation. His discography includes 13m2 (2006), Le son de l’hallali (2011), Le Modèle réduit de nos pensées (2020), (Toujours) deux (2022) and Les mots modernes (2026). Along the way he has also collaborated with Yann Tiersen, Françoise Breut and Lionel Laquerrière. A meeting with visual artist Marina Jolivet opened a second facet of his practice with Ego le Cachalot, a children’s song project built around a playful, narrative and energetic universe. This dual activity places David Delabrosse at the crossroads of chanson and children’s stages, with songwriting that maintains the same care for words, arrangements and rhythm in both fields.
