Eva Eastwood
Born in Örebro, Sweden as Eva Östlund, Eva Eastwood has since the late 1990s developed a repertoire situated between rockabilly, 1950s rock’n’roll and country rock, performing in both Swedish and English. After receiving a contract offer in the United States in 1997 she returned to Sweden and formed Eva Eastwood & The Major Keys, with whom she released several records on the Tail Records label, including Good Things Can Happen (1999), Hot Chicks and Cool Cats (2001), The Good Life I Have (2001) and Roots Revival (2003). With En ny stil i stan (2004) she gained a more prominent position on the Swedish scene, notably following appearances on Allsång på Skansen in 2005 and again in 2011 around the album Lyckost. Her subsequent career alternated between songs in English and Swedish, with releases such as Ton of Heart (2006), Well Well Well (2008), The Beat Goes On (2009), Åh vilken skiva and Oh What a Party (2012), Min melodi (2016) and Candy (2020). Alongside her stage and recording career, Eva Eastwood also writes for other artists in the Swedish rock’n’roll and popular-music spheres, reinforcing her attachment to a retro aesthetic treated in a direct and melodic manner.
