Romanthica
Based in Barcelona within the Spanish rock scene, Romanthica has developed since the mid-2000s a sound situated between gothic rock, melodic metal and dark rock sung in Spanish. The band relies on guitars with atmospheric textures, rather slow or mid-tempo rhythms and vocals carried by lyrics of a melancholic, introspective tone, while remaining close to accessible rock formats. After an initial phase marked by demos and a regular presence on local stages, Romanthica structured its activity in the early 2010s and released the album "Eterno" in 2014, which established a broader sound and highlighted production work geared toward atmospheres. The album "Músicas para el fin del mundo", released in 2018, extended this approach by accentuating contrasts between stripped-down passages and heavier sections, giving an important role to keyboards and guitar arrangements. Through club shows and festivals dedicated to gothic, metal and alternative aesthetics, Romanthica has consolidated an identity centered on the Spanish language, a taste for dark atmospheres and a constant balance between romantic rock and more metal-leaning sounds.
