Kult
Founded in Warsaw in 1982 around Kazik Staszewski, Kult is part of Polish rock history with an expanded lineup in which guitars, bass, drums, keyboards and a brass section contribute to an immediately identifiable sonic identity. The band's early recordings, marked by punk rock, post-punk, new wave and a still-tense alternative rock, took shape on 'Kult' (1987) and 'Posłuchaj to do ciebie' the same year, before gradually opening up to broader arrangements, psychedelic accents, touches of jazz and measured hard rock. Over the decades, Kult has kept Staszewski's voice and lyrics at the center — often rooted in social and political observation of Poland — while evolving formats and textures on albums such as 'Spokojnie' (1988), '45-89' (1991), 'Your Eyes' (1991), 'Tata Kazika' (1993), 'Ostateczny krach systemu korporacji' (1998), 'Hurra!' (2009), 'Prosto' (2013), 'Wstyd' (2016) and 'Ostatnia płyta' (2021). Very present on stage, Kult has also documented this side with several live records, including 'MTV Unplugged' (2010), which offers another interpretation of their repertoire.
