Marco Mendoza
Born in San Diego, California in 1963, Marco Mendoza has developed since the late 1980s a career as a bassist and singer spanning hard rock, heavy metal, funk and jazz fusion. His professional breakthrough came with Bill Ward on the album Along the Way in 1990, followed by stints with Blue Murder and several returns to Thin Lizzy in the 1990s and 2000s. Mendoza later played with Ted Nugent, contributed to David Coverdale’s projects and appears on the Whitesnake live album Live... in the Still of the Night (2006). His playing, rooted in rock but characterized by a flexible, groove-oriented approach, has also led him into varied contexts — from collaborations with Dolores O’Riordan to work with Derek Sherinian — and into a fusion register with the Mendoza Heredia Neto project. Alongside his sideman work, Marco Mendoza has released several solo records, including Live for Tomorrow (2007), Casa Mendoza (2010), Viva La Rock (2018) and Take It To The Limit (2022). He has also been part of Black Star Riders, The Dead Daisies and later the band Iconic, confirming his regular presence on international rock stages.
