Sarah Àlainn
Based between Australia and Japan, Sarah Àlainn has built a career as a singer, songwriter and multi‑instrumentalist at the crossroads of pop, classical music and film and video game scores. Discovered in 2010 while studying at the University of Tokyo, she lent her voice to the ending theme “Beyond the Sky” for the game Xenoblade Chronicles, composed by Yasunori Mitsuda — a pivotal experience that brought her back to Japan and led to a contract with Universal Music. Sarah Àlainn released her debut album Celeste in 2012, followed by Sarah (2014), f (2015), ANIMA (2017) and Cinema Music (also 2017). She then compiled selected recordings on Timeless: Sarah Àlainn Best (2018) and continued with One (2022) and ISEKAI – Anime & Video Game Muse (2025), the latter focused on animation and video games. Her voice is regularly featured on soundtracks such as Time Travelers, Valkyria Revolution, Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak, Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes and SaGa: Emerald Beyond, as well as in series and dramas like Segodon, The Promised Neverland and Irina. On stage Sarah Àlainn alternates between singing, violin, piano and other acoustic instruments in arrangements drawing on classical repertoire, songs and film music, while collaborating with a range of artists from David Foster to Ludovico Einaudi. Since 2018 she has also co-hosted Kabuki Kool on NHK, a programme introducing kabuki theatre to an international audience.
