Born in Paris, raised in Tokyo and based in Berlin, Alex from Tokyo has been building a career as a DJ and producer since the 1990s across Japan, France, New York and Germany. Also credited as Alex Prat and associated with the Tokyo Black Star project, Alex from Tokyo moves between house, broken beat, disco, soul, jazz‑funk, downtempo and ambient, with an approach focused on supple grooves, slightly off‑kilter rhythms and organic textures.
