Ganes

Formed in 2010 in La Val, in Italy's South Tyrol, Ganes initially brought together sisters Elisabeth and Marlene Schuen with their cousin Maria Moling, before Natalie Plöger joined in 2018. The trio performs pop sung predominantly in Ladin, the minority language of the Dolomites, with songwriting that blends Alpine folk, vocal harmonies, strings and subtle electronic touches. Prior to Ganes, Marlene Schuen played and sang for many years in Hubert von Goisern's band, while Elisabeth Schuen and Maria Moling joined him as backing vocalists on a 2007 tour — a period during which Ganes began to take shape. Their discography starts with Rai de sorëdl (2010), followed by Mai guai (2011), Parores & Neores (2012), Caprize (2014) and An cunta che (2016), and continues with Or brüm (2021), A cordes (2023) and Vives! (2024). Over the years Ganes has evolved from a very acoustic approach to a broader, more expansive sound, while maintaining the link between Ladin heritage, contemporary pop and chamber instrumentation.
