Strajk
Founded in Płock in 1990, initially under the name Uśmiechnięta Kromka Chleba before quickly adopting the name Strajk, the band is part of the early-1990s Polish punk rock scene. The group formed around Konrad Wojda with Robert Wudarski, Artur Lubiński and Paweł Hajnowski and went through several lineup changes over time. Their first active period lasted until around 2000 and was marked by a straightforward punk-rock aesthetic: short formats, sharp guitars and the energy of the independent circuit. Strajk released the demo Strajk in 1990 and the albums Nie Pójdziemy (1993) and Lustro (1995). After the band stopped in 2000, the farewell album Siła w Nas was finally issued in 2004. Konrad Wojda later revived Strajk between 2007 and 2009 as a trio with Sebastian Stańczak and Paweł Caban; from this period came Reaktywacja (2007) and Dwie Strony (2009), the latter incorporating texts by Mariusz Zalewski. In 2025 Nie Pójdziemy was reissued in a remastered edition, reestablishing the band's place in the history of Płock’s Polish punk rock.
