Alissa Wenz

Novelist and singer‑songwriter born in 1986, Alissa Wenz develops her work between literature, song and cinema. Originally from Brittany, she studied piano and voice at the Saint‑Malo conservatory before entering the École normale supérieure and then the screenwriting department of La Fémis, from which she graduated in 2013. In her songs, Alissa Wenz belongs to the tradition of French lyric song, carried by a central piano, a clear voice and a taste for intimate or narrative stories. Produced by Contrepied Productions, she recorded her first live album in 2019, “Alissa Wenz en trio – Live au Forum Léo Ferré”, captured in Ivry‑sur‑Seine with Léo Varnet and Agnès Le Batteux, which established a chamber‑ensemble aesthetic combining piano, strings, accordion and brass. Her first studio album, “Je, tu, elle”, was released in 2022 on EPM/Universal, with arrangements by Romain Didier that extend this acoustic craftsmanship around the texts, supported by violins, cello, clarinet, flugelhorn, bass and percussion. Alongside her performing career, Alissa Wenz publishes stories and novels with Ateliers Henry Dougier, Denoël and later Les Avril, and continues to work as a screenwriter and teacher — a multifaceted path that feeds the precise, narrative quality of her songwriting.
