Brandon "TAZ" Niederauer

Brandon “TAZ” Niederauer, an American guitarist, singer and composer born in 2003, grew up on Long Island in New York State before moving to New York City, where he developed a style rooted in rock, blues and improvised music. Deeply influenced from a young age by the film School of Rock and his family’s record collection, Brandon Niederauer cut his teeth on stage and at twelve won the role of Zack Mooneyham in the Broadway production of School of Rock the Musical, which firmly established him in New York’s musical and theatrical landscape. At the same time, Brandon “TAZ” Niederauer played numerous concerts at festivals and large venues in the United States and internationally, sharing bills with members of the Allman Brothers Band and artists from the rock, soul, funk and jam scenes. His guitar playing—centered on rock riffs, blues colors and extended improvisational sections—also accompanies his own songs. Brandon Niederauer has appeared on American television, notably on evening and morning shows, and acted in Spike Lee’s series She’s Gotta Have It. Alongside his touring activities, Brandon “TAZ” Niederauer became Jon Batiste’s live guitarist and completed a degree in economics at Yale University.
