Camille Berthollet
Trained between France and Switzerland, cellist and violinist Camille Berthollet, born in 1999 in Annecy, began studying both instruments at an early age and performed as a child in chamber music settings before appearing on French television. Her victory in 2014 on the TV show Prodiges on France 2 brought her to the forefront of a generation of media‑visible classical performers. From that point she has multiplied concerts with orchestra and in small ensembles, notably in a regular duo with her sister, violinist Julie Berthollet, appearing in halls and festivals across France and Europe. Her first album, Camille, released in 2015, presents a programme spanning major works of the romantic repertoire, virtuosic pieces and transcriptions of more popular themes. In subsequent recordings, often shared with Julie Berthollet, the musician broadened her scope to include arrangements of film music, French songs and international standards, while maintaining a grounding in the classical aesthetic. On stage Camille Berthollet alternates purely classical programmes and more cross‑disciplinary projects aimed at varied audiences, from recitals and orchestral concerts to televised or event performances.
