Faraquet

Formed in Washington, D.C., in 1997 around Devin Ocampo, Chad Molter and Jeff Boswell, Faraquet entered the local post-hardcore scene with songwriting that blended punk-like tension, near-math-rock structures and progressive touches. The trio first released several singles and a split with Akarso, then toured the American independent circuit, notably on a tour with Fugazi. Faraquet then recorded The View from This Tower in 2000 with J. Robbins at Inner Ear Studios—an album released on Dischord Records where angular guitars, rhythmic breaks and the very precise interplay between bass, drums and vocals create a tense, mobile sound. The band broke up shortly afterward, before briefly reuniting between 2007 and 2008 for the release of Anthology 1997-98 in 2008, a compilation dedicated to their early recordings, followed by a short reformation that included a tour in Brazil and a concert in Washington. After Faraquet, Devin Ocampo and Chad Molter continued part of that trajectory with Medications.
