Quest Master

Driven by a heroic, medieval imagination, the Australian project Quest Master belongs to the dungeon synth scene that revives the codes of 1990s role‑playing game music. Under that name, Quest Master has developed since the late 2010s an aesthetic centered on high fantasy themes, with melodic synthetic compositions, misty atmospheres and a marked taste for repetitive motifs close to film or video game music. The albums The Twelve Castles (2020) and Sword Stained with Crimson (2021) place Quest Master among the dungeon synth projects that favour continuous instrumental narratives, constructed like successive chapters around castles, forests and imaginary quests. Released mainly through an international network of specialized labels and limited‑run cassettes, Quest Master remains tied to the online dungeon synth and fantasy ambient scenes, focusing on immersive listening rather than stage performance, while steadily asserting a sonically immediately recognisable identity within the movement.
