Marc Marshall

Born in Baden-Baden in 1963, Marc Marshall has built a career at the crossroads of jazz, pop, classical music and chanson. He studied jazz at the Dick Grove School of Music in Los Angeles and classical singing at the Hochschule für Musik Karlsruhe, where he earned a baritone diploma. Marshall also worked in opera and operetta before expanding his activities to the concert stage and television. In 1997 he formed the duo Marshall & Alexander with Jay Alexander, which remained active until 2023 and specialised in a classical-pop repertoire combining operatic pieces, standards and songs arranged for large ensembles. In parallel, Marc Marshall has pursued a solo career more open to vocal jazz and orchestrated pop, documented notably by Die Perfekte Affäre (2015), Herzschlag (2017) and Times To Love (2024). Long established in Baden-Baden’s cultural life, he also presents stage formats such as Mr. M’s Jazz Club and Marc Marshall & Friends. Over the years he has collaborated with artists from diverse backgrounds, including Till Brönner, Nils Landgren, Roger Cicero and Andrea Bocelli.
