Patricia Vonne
Between San Antonio and Austin, Texas, Patricia Vonne has been building a career since the early 2000s at the crossroads of Tex‑Mex rock, americana and Hispanic‑influenced music. A singer‑songwriter and actress, Patricia Vonne blends rock guitars, border rhythms and castanets with lyrics in English and Spanish that often draw on the imagery of the American South and northern Mexico. After spending several years in New York in the 1990s performing on local rock stages, she returned to Texas to record her debut album Patricia Vonne (2003), followed by Guitars and Castanets (2005), which established a style combining ballads, more electric tracks and flamenco influences. Subsequent releases such as Firebird (2007), Worth It (2010) and Top of the Mountain (2018) continued this roots‑and‑border aesthetic. Patricia Vonne tours regularly in the United States and Europe, notably in Germany and Spain, performing in clubs and festivals dedicated to roots music and alternative country. Alongside her discography, she appears in several films by her brother Robert Rodriguez and co‑wrote the song Traeme Paz, included on the soundtrack of Once Upon a Time in Mexico.
