Konkhra
Formed in the late 1980s around guitarist and vocalist Anders Lundemark, Konkhra belongs to the Danish extreme metal scene and developed a death metal approach marked by a strong sense of groove and often mid-tempos. Based in the Copenhagen area, the band first honed its identity through demos and early recordings before releasing the album “Sexual Affective Disorder” in 1993, which established Konkhra on the European death metal landscape. Lineups changed regularly but remained structured around Lundemark, and Konkhra’s style occasionally incorporated thrash elements and heavier, groove-oriented structures. The release of “Weed Out the Weak” in 1997, featuring musicians from other international extreme metal bands, followed by “Come Down Cold” in 1999 and “Reality Check” in 2003, accompanied an active touring profile and a constant presence in specialized circuits. After a quieter period in terms of releases, Konkhra returned with “Nothing Is Sacred” in 2009 and “Alpha and the Omega” in 2019, continuing a trajectory focused on direct death metal, emphatic riffs and abrasive vocals, which firmly anchored the band within the continuity of the Scandinavian extreme scene.
