Bush

Formed in London in 1992 around Gavin Rossdale, Bush established themselves in the mid-1990s with an alternative rock sound informed by grunge, post-grunge and hard rock, built on thick guitars, direct melodic lines and a tension that is more sombre than showy. Initially launched under the name Future Primitive, Bush released Sixteen Stone in 1994 and Razorblade Suitcase in 1996, before slightly broadening their palette with The Science of Things in 1999, which introduced electronic elements, and Golden State in 2001. The original lineup comprised Rossdale, Nigel Pulsford, Dave Parsons and Robin Goodridge; after a split in 2002, Bush reformed in 2010 with Rossdale, joined notably by Chris Traynor, who had taken part in the band’s last tour and in Institute, Rossdale’s project during the hiatus. Since that comeback, Bush have followed a steady course with The Sea of Memories (2011), Man on the Run (2014), Black and White Rainbows (2017), The Kingdom (2020), The Art of Survival (2022) and I Beat Loneliness (2025). Today Bush operates as a quartet made up of Gavin Rossdale, Chris Traynor, Corey Britz and Nik Hughes, and remains associated with American rock scenes and mainstream festivals.
