Bunbury
Born in 1967 in Zaragoza, Spain, Enrique Bunbury became known as the singer and lyricist of the rock band Héroes del Silencio, active in the late 1980s and early 1990s, before launching a solo career in 1997 with the album "Radical Sonora." From "Pequeño" (1999) and "Flamingos" (2002) to records like "Hellville de Luxe" (2008), "Palosanto" (2013), "Expectativas" (2017), "Posible" (2020), "Curso de levitación intensivo" (2020) and "Greta Garbo" (2023), Bunbury has developed a Spanish-language rock that blends alternative sounds, songcraft, Latin American influences and electronic touches. Living at times in Spain, Mexico and the United States, he has built a discography that alternates electric albums with more acoustic projects such as the MTV Unplugged "El libro de las mutaciones" (2015) and forays into a cabaret-like realm. Bunbury's lyrics address introspective, relational and social themes, often favouring cinematic imagery and nocturnal moods. Regularly backed by the band Los Santos Inocentes, he has collaborated with various Spanish-language musicians, notably Andrés Calamaro and the Mexican group Zoé, and performs on rock stages across Europe and Latin America.
