Consummation

Born out of Brisbane’s extreme music scene in Australia, Consummation occupies a hybrid black/death metal approach characterized by dense sonics, dissonance and ritualistic atmospheres. The band emerged in the early 2010s with a self-titled first recording in 2012, laying the groundwork for a style defined by layered guitars, a low vocal register and extended song structures. Consummation further honed this direction on the 2017 EP "Ritual Severance", which accentuates the contrast between rapid passages and slower, almost funeral sections, placing the project among Australian acts associated with the worlds of Portal and Impetuous Ritual. In 2019 the album "The Great Solar Hunter", released on Profound Lore Records, developed longer, more narrative compositions that build tension through accumulating rhythmic and harmonic layers. Active primarily within the extreme metal underground, Consummation favors a dark, abstract aesthetic centered on immersion and repetition, both in the studio and live.
