Lucien Foort

Born in Dordrecht, Netherlands, in 1969, Lucien Foort first develops a classical musical training before turning to DJing in his teens, after studying, among other things, the saxophone. His career takes on an international dimension in the early 1990s with Quadrophonia, a project led with Olivier Abbeloos, whose 1991 title Quadrophonia fits into the European rave and techno wave of the time. Subsequently, Lucien Foort builds a durable trajectory between house, techno and trance, with a marked preference for productions that are both direct, melodic and club-ready. Active as a producer under his own name and through several projects, he has frequented Dutch circuits as well as British and international scenes, with regular stints in leading clubs and festivals, notably Gatecrasher in Sheffield in the early 2000s. His discography includes the albums Slice01 in 2003 and Slice02 in 2005. Parallel to his DJ activity, Lucien Foort also worked in radio in the Netherlands for BNN and hosted the Los! show on 3FM. Always associated with a broad reading of dance electronic music, Foort has since the 1990s alternated between club-oriented sets and productions anchored in house and techno.
