Luicidal

Born out of the punk scene in Venice, a neighborhood of Los Angeles, Luicidal formed in 2012 around bassist Louiche Mayorga and drummer R.J. Herrera, both former members of Suicidal Tendencies. Luicidal began as a punk rock and hardcore punk project firmly rooted in Venice’s legacy, with Mando Ochoa on vocals and Ricky Reynaga on guitar, initially performing tracks from Suicidal Tendencies’ first three albums live before introducing original material. In 2014 Luicidal released a self-titled debut on DC-Jam Records, featuring a sound close to 1980s crossover punk and guest appearances by Rocky George, Grant Estes and Amery Smith, as well as H.R. (Bad Brains) and Dale Henderson (Beowülf). After Herrera left and was replaced in 2016 by drummer Vince Sollecito, Luicidal maintained a steady presence in clubs and festivals across the US and Europe, alternating covers from Suicidal Tendencies’ classic era with new songs. The 2018 album Born in Venice confirmed Luicidal’s direction toward a blend of aggressive punk rock, hardcore and metal elements, faithful to the Venice scene’s aesthetic while developing the band’s own identity.
