Sophia Aram
Sophia Aram is a French comedian working in stand-up and one-woman shows, with a pronounced focus on social and political current affairs. Born in Ris-Orangis in the Essonne department to a family of Moroccan origin, she began with acting and improvisation before turning to writing her own shows, which she performed in theatres and on tour from the mid-2000s. Alongside her stage work, she has gradually established herself on radio—particularly on France Inter—where her regular columns have played a significant role in her career and helped define her voice: a mix of everyday observation, critique of public discourse and analysis of societal debates. Sophia Aram also appears on television, notably on France 2, in formats that blend columns, presenting and stage humour. Her work is characterised by a constant attention to issues of secularism, racism, equality and French political life, which she addresses through embodied monologues, fictional dialogues and ironic commentary. Over the years she has continued to move between stage, radio and television, building a body of work that links humour, civic engagement and intimate storytelling.
