Kollaps

Born out of Melbourne’s underground scene in Australia, Kollaps is an industrial/noise band defined by a confrontational approach to sound and performance. Led by musician and performer Wade Black, Kollaps operates as a flexible lineup that mixes pounding rhythms, layers of feedback, abrasive textures and shouted vocals to build a dark post‑industrial world informed by themes of social violence, religion and intimate disintegration. After several low‑profile releases, the project crystallized with the album “SIBB” in 2017, which positioned Kollaps at the intersection of raw industrial, power electronics and a post‑punk legacy. “Mechanical Christ,” released in 2019, intensified the focus on dissonance and tension dynamics, while “Until The Day I Die” (2022) continued the exploration of a physically demanding sound conceived for both listening and stage impact. Present on the European and Australian experimental music circuits, Kollaps sits within a radical industrial tradition while asserting a distinct sonic identity.
